SOUTHEAST MISSOURI CAPE REGIONAL COLLEGE FAIR
Juniors and Seniors who would like to attend the Cape Regional College Fair at SEMO on October 23 should sign up on the sheet outside the counselor's office by October 21. This is a one stop opportunity to meet with over 60 exhibitors including both in-state and out-of-state colleges and branches of the military. Permission slips will be due in the office by October 22.
MISSOURI CADET PATROL ACADEMY
The 54th Annual Missouri Cadet Patrol Academy will be held June 7-12 at the Missouri State Highway Patrol Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, MO. Students ages 16-18 with a C average and a valid driver’s license, may be eligible to attend. The Academy is geared to students interested in pursuing a career in the criminal justice system. A+ INFORMATIONAL MEETING
Mrs. Elfrink will be having an A+ informational meeting from 5:00-5:30PM (during parent-teacher conferences) Thursday, October 30. Parents and 9th-12th grade students who would like to learn the eligibility requirements for the A+ scholarship should attend.
MYMO CLASS OF 2029
The class of 2029 can earn $2,500 each year by meeting college-going benchmarks, totaling $10,000 by senior year. The application will open on January 1, 2026 and close on March 2, 2026. All application materials must be uploaded in My Scholarship Central by the deadline. Freshmen will be notified if they are selected for MyMO in May. They are looking for students who are Pell Grant eligible (SAI of 7,395 or less), have a 2.5+ cumulative HS GPA, and meet 90% attendance. All application details are included on the flyer that is being home with freshmen on Monday, October 13.
HOBY
A HOBY seminar is a 3-4-day leadership and service program for high school sophomores that helps them develop their leadership strengths, identify their values, and learn to make a positive impact in their communities. The 2026 HOBY Missouri Leadership Seminar will take place June 5 – 7, 2026 at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, MO. Students are required to stay for the duration of the entire seminar, arriving by 8:00am on Friday and departing at approximately 2:30pm on Sunday. Students are nominated by their school. Cost to attend from a sponsor is approximately $400. If your sophomore is interested in attending and would like additional information, please visit hobymo.org and then see the counselor.
MO GIRLS & BOYS STATE
Missouri Boys State and ALA Missouri Girls State are eight‑day immersive programs held in June at Lindenwood University where rising high school seniors simulate state government, run for office, and learn leadership through hands‑on civic engagement. The cost is $500 per participant for sponsors, covering housing, meals, and all program activities. For 2026, Girls & Boys State is June 20-27. Participants who successfully complete the American Legion Auxiliary State program are able to apply for scholarship opportunities. FLU SHOTS
Parents/Guardians, Faculty and Staff,
Cape Girardeau County Public Health Center will be at Delta R-V School to provide the Influenza vaccine on October 22, 2025.
Please visit https://ph-capegirardeau.as.me/Deltaschool to register. Use your personal email when registering as some employer emails block the consent from coming through due to firewalls. You will receive two emails; the first email is a confirmation for registering. The second email is the consent, this MUST be signed to get the influenza vaccine. Check your spam or junk folder if you do not see this email in your inbox. This may take some time to come through and is not immediate. There is no upfront cost for the influenza vaccine. If you have insurance or Medicaid, we will bill the insurance company. You can upload your insurance information within the registration link above.

VFW NATIONAL CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION TEACHER AWARD
Recognize teachers who care about America. All current certified/licensed teachers in grades K-12 are eligible. To nominate a teacher, you must submit the nomination form, a resume for the teacher, and a head-and-shoulder photo to the local VFW by October 31. For more information, please ask the counselor.

CTC is in session on October 31st. The bus will run as usual. You are expected to attend.
CTC is not in session on October 16th, 17th & 20th for fall break. Seniors, please check in to Delta by 8:00am on Thursday, October 16th. Your senior pictures will begin about 8. Please sign in by 11:00 on the 17th & 20th.
