JOSTENS DELIVERY

Jostens will be delivering senior merchandise on Thursday, March 28th at 11:00am.  If you have a balance due, you will not get merchandise until it is paid in full. Anyone who still has a balance can pay at delivery with cash, money order, or card. They can also pay online at www.thegraduationcenter.com or by contacting our office. 573-546-7366

We do not accept personal check for graduation products.

IRC TESTING

Tuesday, March 12 is IRC testing at Poplar Bluff. The bus leaves at 7:30am and will return at the end of the day. 10 students are expected to participate.

EASTER BREAK

Easter break will be March 29-April 3.

REPORT CARDS

Report cards will go home on Tuesday 3/12.

SUMMER SCHOOL

Summer school will be held May 14th through June 7th.

5TH GRADE TOURS THE HIGH SCHOOL

The 5th grade will be coming over to tour the high school on Tuesday, March 12.  They will leave the elementary at 11:15 to come over to eat in the high school cafeteria.  Then, they will take their tour.  It is expected to end around 12:50. 

ACT PREP COURSE

WeTeach is offering an ACT Prep Course on April 2 8:15am-2:30pm at the Cape CTC.  Cost is $95.  Register at WeTeachSolutions.org by March 31.

CAMP STAT

Camp STAT is a weeklong opportunity for high school students to get a "behind the scenes" look into healthcare with hands-on learning experiences.  There are 2 sessions:  June 3-6 and June 24-28 with 30 campers each session.  The Camp will meet at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau each day.  The non-refundable cost of camp is $75 & includes daily lunch and snacks.  Spots fill up quickly.  Register at https://www.sfmc.net/camp-stat/.

MIZZOU MEDICAL EXPLORATION WORKSHOP

The University of Missouri School of Medicine would like to invite our current sophomores and juniors to participate in the Mizzou MedPrep: Medical Explorations workshop. The workshop is a 2-week online course with a one-day In-person visit to either the Columbia or Springfield Clinical Campus. The students will explore careers in healthcare, enhance self-awareness through personal assessment, and connect with peers, students, staff, and faculty in healthcare. Students will apply online at  https://mededportal.missouri.edu/Pathways.  Students will first create an account and choose a username and password, they will then be able to log in and out of the account as needed.

Fee: $75 – Financial Assistance Available  //  Registration deadline– March 30

RootEd Senior Decision Day: March 13

Parents are welcome to come @ 11 p.m.

Activities:

1. We will have signing day for every student may it be workforce, college, trade school, or military.  This will take place in the lobby. 

2. Meal will be provided for students and parents (chicken alfredo, breadsticks, and salad).  This will take place in Bobcat Academy.

3. Raffle prizes

5. Bring any questions that may need answered with you so we can get each family on the right path.

Due to the recent announcement regarding a delay in colleges receiving federal aid information until March, SEMO has updated important deadlines:

Health College Preview Day

Southeast Health open house on Saturday, March 16 9am-Noon. Giving away t-shirts & will have a drawing for a free general education class (worth $1300). Presentation on the admission process at 9:30.

BETA CLUB RECYCLING FOR THE Ronald McDonald House

Delta HS BETA Club is hosting a recycling program for the Ronald McDonald House in St. Louis. We will be collecting: Aluminum can tab tops, Old Keys - Collect and donate your unused keys to one of our Houses through our Keys to the Heart Program. When you donate the keys, you no longer need, you open doors for families with seriously ill children. Small electronics - Accepted electronics include: old cell phones, laptops, power adapters and chargers, holiday lights, home and office phones, extension cords, network gear, satellite receivers, and PC towers. Items can be dropped off in the lobby at the High School.

A+ Log Sheets

All A+ students, please update your A+ logs with your hours and activities and turn them into Mrs. Elfrink so she may update your progress. Seniors, please turn in your logs asap so Mrs. Elfrink can update your parents on your eligibility.

JUNIOR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS

The Better Business Bureau Student of Ethics Award is open to high school students graduating in Spring 2025.  Must write a 300-word essay on an ethical dilemma you have faced and how you resolved it. Apply at https://stlouisbbb.wufoo.com/forms/x1xgjxrd1fbhte7/. Winners will receive a $2,500 scholarship.

Horatio Alger Scholarship open to juniors planning to enter a college in the US no later than the fall following graduation. Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0, demonstrate critical financial need, be involved in co-curricular & community service.  The online application is available at horationalger.org/scholarships.  Scholarships range from $10,000 to $25,000 with more than 600 available.  Deadline is March 15.
