
US Military Service Academy Day is Sept. 16 9:30-Noon at Jefferson College. Representatives from West Point, US Air Force Academy, US Naval Academy, US Merchant Marine Academy, & US Coast Guard Academy are expected to attend. Senator Josh Hawley is able to recommend some of Missouri’s most talented & skilled individuals to attend the 4 United States military service academies. A nomination is required for appointment to an academy. The deadline to submit a request for this nomination is September 29, 2023. See Mrs. Elfrink if interested.

HS students have until 3:06PM tomorrow, August 29 to sign up for a student requested 1st semester schedule change. After tomorrow, the next time students can request a schedule change will be in December.

Congratulations to Carsyn Swain who received the 2023 SEMO District Fair Scholarship worth $2,500!

Any 9th-12th grader wanting to join the Delta FFA Chapter needs to pay dues of $25 to Ms. Swindell by Wednesday, Sept. 20. This will include a club t-shirt too so know what size shirt you want. You must currently be in an High School Ag class or have been in an Ag class to join. Any questions, please see Ms. Swindell


Reminder: Please enter the high school parking lot from Route N. Then exit onto McKinnley, which is the road in between the elementary and high school building. The parking lot has been restriped please pay attention to the new parking spots. The building opens at 7:30. Please enter the door that says board office.

Reminder: Elementary drop off and pick up will be in front of the elementary building. There are two lanes for drop off and pick up. Please drive up to the front cone before stopping to drop off. The building opens at 7:30. See you tomorrow.

Parents - the forms for device insurance will be sent home with students on Wednesday. It is highly recommended that the device coverage is purchased for your child as they will be responsible for damages they cause to their device.


CTC STUDENTS
Tomorrow, August 22 is the 1st day for the Cape CTC. If you are scheduled to take classes at the CTC, you will need to attend tomorrow. Please arrive by 7:50 to ride the bus. You should return about 11:15 and are released to go.

SEMO DUAL CREDIT/DUAL ENROLLMENT STUDENTS
Today was the 1st day for SEMO. Please make sure you have set up your SE Key and signed into your classes starting today. Payment for classes is due September 1.

MORNING SAE SENIORS
Arrive at school by 7:55 on Wed. August 23 (1st day of school). You will attend the HS assembly & go to your advisory meeting. Then, you will meet with Ms. Swindell. If you have a note from you parent releasing you, then you can leave. You will need to return for afternoon classes.

The first day of attendance for the Cape Girardeau Career & Technology Center is Tuesday, August 22. If your student is signed up to take a Cape CTC class, they will need to attend on Tuesday. They should arrive at Delta by 7:50am. They will ride the bus to the CTC and should return around 11:15am.

DUAL CREDIT/DUAL ENROLLMENT STUDENTS
SEMO begins classes Monday, Aug 21. You will need to go to campus to rent your books this week. Their website says textbook rental is available Mon-Fri 8:00-5:00, Sat 11:00-3:00, Sun 1:00-4:00. You will also need to get your ID if you don't have one. Begin your classes Monday.

Elementary student drop off will be in front of the elementary building. Buses will drop students off in the back of the building. Parents/Students entering the high school front parking lot please look for signs as the entrance will be different this year. You will enter directly from route N and exit on Mckinnley.

Open house will be this Thursday, August 17th from 5-7pm. Students can bring their supplies to open house to put in their lockers. The first day of school will be Wednesday, August 23rd. All students 6th through 12th grade will meet in the cafeteria Wednesday morning. Both buildings open at 7:30 a.m.

CONGRATULATIONS to Gracie Branam who received the Drew Jones Memorial Scholarship worth $1,000 and the TRIO/Student Support Services Scholarship worth $2,000. We are very proud of Gracie and all of our Class of 2023 graduates!

The FEMA building is open if anybody needs to seek shelter. You will not be able to park behind the high school due to construction. You'll have to park at the elementary. The back door of the shelter, by the high school gym, is open.

The Delta High School has an opening for a part-time cook starting August 23. Please contact Scott Crabtree if you are interested at 573-794-2500.

MAP & EOC Score reports will be distributed to students on September 1. ISR are available by request from the office prior to September 1.
